THE WOOD LUPINE MURDER.
SUSPECT BOARDS A TRAIN. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received May 20, 9.15 a.m.) PERTH, May 20. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Davidson Smithson in connection with the Wood Lupine murder. The suspected man was formerly a tram conductor, and he has been missing from his lodgings since the night of the tragedy. Last night a man resembling the accused called at the Bayswater railway station, four miles from Wood Lupine, and asked for a ticket for Perth. On being told that a train was not due for some hours he became excited, ran across the line, and jumped upon a •.'■ in which was proceeding in the opposite direction. The man's dishevelled appearance startled a lady passenger, who screamed, and the guard stopped the train. The man sprang out and disappeared in the scrub. Trackers are following the trail.
