FLUCTUATIONS IN MARKETS.
New Zealand dairy produce merchants are sometimes .surprised at the fluctuations of the market, and. how the sale in one particular district suddenly falls away. But a- Home paper throws some light on the matter. It is stated that there is reason to suspect the exploiting of colonial butter by a clique of buyers in England, which renders the price of this article bo *ncertain that most traders are afraid to handle it, while some never get the chance. It is said that 110 sooner have grocers got customers used to tihe flavour of the New Zealand dairy produce than prices go up, and there is no profit in sales. Reactions from time to'time occur, but in the interim customer,a have gone hack to other butter and the grocer declines to experiment the colonial article again.
