FIRE IN LONDON
CECIL COURT IN FLAMES.
SENSATIONAL ESCAPES

LONDON, May 18
A sensational fire luts occurred in the Cecil Court, in St. Martin's Lane.
An explosion occurred in the baßement of the 'building, where millions of feet of cinematographic film® were stored.
A (man was blown out of the isbop above.
Ln a few seconds the- Court was a seething mass of flames. A bookshop opposite has been consumed, and fears are entertained that two blocks of flat® surrounding the Court will be involved.. Many residents in the Court were cut off by the flames. Th? crowd below hurriedly strapped short feddeiis together, ponding the arrival of firemen. Numerous thrilling escapes occurred. • • ' Some of tl),e women crawled from their rooms through narrow parapets. Others threw themselves into the arms of the crowd below. Five have been taken to the Hospital.
