THE KNYVETT CASE.
AN UNCONFIRMED REPORT.

■ , AUCKLAND, Last.Night. * It is. Understood that the finding, of the CorUrt-inaivtial in the Knyvett Case l has readied the Acting-Minister for Defence (Hion. Geo. Fowlds), but it is yet to 'be placed in the hands of His! Excellency the Governor before details are made public. • It is believed, however, that the Court found ex-Oaprbain Knyvett guilty, and confirmed the sentence of dismissal.
In connection with the Knyvett case and a .similar one in Taranaki, it is understood that the General Officer Commanding the New Zealand Forces Godley), considering -the previous excellent reoords ol these officers, will be prepared to recommend favourable consideration to an application by either or both of them to be posted on the reserve of officers, provided that such applications are accompanied by an ample apology for and retraction of the letters written or instigated by them.
