MANAWATU A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
o— : —. RESIGNATION OF THE SECRETARY. (By Telegraph—Special to the Age.) PALMERSTON N., Last Night. At the meeting of the General Committee of the Manawatu and East Coast A. and P. Association, held this afternoon. Mr J. C. Lane, who, for a number of years past has been Secretary of the Association, resigned his position. This arose from a resolution that was ps.ssed at the Inst meeting of tho Committee, when it was decided that Mr Lane should hold no other positions than that of Secretary and a notice of motion was tabled that his salary should be increased as a consequence. To-day, however, Mr Lane resigned (as above stated), he having decided to retain his positions as Secretary to the New Zealand Jersey and Romney Breeders' Associations. Mr Lane has worked hard for the Association, and the severance of his connection with that body will bo keenly regretted. The resignation, which takes effect ; n three months, was discussed in Com-mit-too, and adopted in open meeting.
