THE "SECRET" CASE. MR MACDONALD STILL IN CUSTODY. WELLINGTON, Last Night. Sir Robert Stout and Mr Justice Chapman this morning gave an oral judgment on one aspect of the writ of attachment, in connection with the case Rose v. Mcdonald, as to whether the writ could be stayed without being discharged. The Court held that it could not, and ordered that defendant must remain in custody, as at present, until Friday, at 2 p.m., when the matter will be discussed, on a motion for the discharge of the defendant. Tho D.O.A. submitted a full report of the proceedings in the estate, with which there had been a considerable amount of litigation. He replied to a number of questions. The meeting resolved on th-3 motion of Mr R. h. Patterson (Napier) that the mor.eys in hand be distributed amount the creditors forthwith, imd t haj the moneys 'dready received from Mrs Paterson be considered full payment; that the whole estate be so'i to her in consideration of her waiving claims, against the D.0.A.., and that tha writ issued against her by the D.O.A. be withdrawn.
