THE CORONATION SUBSIDY.
AND THE IyjASTERTON PARK.
A deputation of tJEie Masfcerton Borough Council, composed of His Worship ftihe Mayor and Ons. Pragnell and Prentice, waited informally upon 'fclie Acting-Prime Minister yesterday afternoon, in reference to. a Coronation .subsidy for improvements to rfche Park. His Worship stated that *here was a Park Beautifying Committee in the town, and this had raised funds in aid of improving the Park. It was now (suggested that a tea kiosk, or something of the sort, be provided. : The Hon. J. Carrol istated that ' he did not think a tea kiosk TO»on the list. This list ihad been, revised a fe<w days lhack, and a. number of items had : Jbeen istruck off. He would list of objects approved of to His Worship the Mayor. It had been found that application had been made for quite a mUimlber of works which should have been carried out "by the ratepayers. The Mayor-sstated ffchatfc tea Mosk was a imost necessary tiling at the present time. It would 'he a permanent improvememt. Councillors Pragnell and Prentice emphasized th.e importance of thetea kiosk project, and assured the Acting-Prime Minister thai it would be of a (permanent character and suitably; inscribed. ~ The Hon. Hogg, MJP., suggested that if a fiulbsidy toouM not be provided for a tea kiosk, it might lie made available lor fencing in tlhe Park Oval.
