KAIPARORO. On last Monday night the annual election of Hall Trustees took place. The keen interest taken in the election was evidenced by the large attendance at (the meeting. A rather heated argument took place as to the qualifications of voters, and finally the matter was amicably arranged by only donors heing allowed to vote, or to hold a iseat on the Trust, The number of Trustees was increased from five to twelve, and Mr Dick -was elected chairnutn, and Mr 0. Falkner secretary. Alter tflie election of Trustees, a strong dance eomnniittee was formed, Mrs Mcda.nn Ibedng .chosen as Treasurer and Miss Lozell as secretary. It was arranged that a series' of fortnightly dances he. held during the winter, tibe first to take place on Saturday, May '2otih. „ The newly elected Hall Trustees gave a very enjoyable dance on Thursday night. In ispite of the rather threatening appearance of the weather, the rain held off, and there was a very good attendance. Excellent imusic was supplied by Mrs Uicly fopiano), and. Mr .Parker (cornet). Song® and recitations, were contributed <by Mr Needham. The /floor was in good, order, all were in, the ibest of spirits, and dancing was kept g»ing merrily until nearly, 3 a.m. Mr and Mrs a\ Falkner, junr., returned home on Tuesday last, after a ■month's pleasant iholidiay in Auckland. Missis Burbuah, from the, West Taratahi isiohool, has been appointed as- ; slstant teacher in the local .school.
