LANG V. LESTER.
LESTER DISQUALIFIED

SYDNEY, May 14
A great crowd assembled at the Stadium to witness the Lang-Lester fight, which proved inconclusive. Five rounds were fought. Towards the close of the sixth round the American was delivering heavv 'body blows, and landed the Australian. Finding'his elbow was suffering pain from the blows and his hand was partially crippled, Lester turned bjis back on lis oppenent and started to walk to the- middle of the ring Lang followed, and was preparing to deliver a blow, when the American. dropped on his knee. The refaree, "Snowy.' liaKer, tiu > upon disqualified Lester for dropping without receiving a blow, and proclaimed Lang the victor. Lester showed willing, punishing fighting, but ho-was wanting in skill. Lang was out for pointing in every round. A doctor examined Lester and stated that a. blow had driven a circumflex nerve near the shoulder against ;> bore, causing intense pain. Lester protested his ignor&nce of tho rule througk whicb h-3 lost tbc fight. Ho said 1.0 would bo allowed in Amcrb-ir to do as be did. Ho is keen for another fight.
