"FAKING" OF SHEEP.
Mr D. McGregor, junr., :s to be commended for having afforded- the Camimifctee of the Mastertan A. and P. Association an opportunity of discussing the question of the trimming and faking of show sheep, which excited such, am animated discussion in the columns of the Age months back. The rule of tile Association which deals with the subject throws the onuis of disqualification for unfair practices entirely upon the judges. In the opinion of a great number of people this is placing a responsibility upon the judges (many of whom are breeders) which they should not be asked to accept, and which tlhey have failed to fully recognise in the past. If the Assoiriation can decade how far trimming and other practices axe permissfrble—aitid, this is the crux of the whole question— it would be quite justified in foamipg a mile by which the responsibility for disqualification would be cast upon a committee specially appointed.
