EMPLOYERS' FEDERATION.
New Zealand possesses a number of institutions whose ostensible object is tUi.o protection' of the interests of employers of labour. The Farmers' Union is out ito protect tlie farmer, and ( the Employers' Federation to guard /tilxe interests of the town employer. Then we have our Chambers of Commerce, our Shopkeepers' Associations, and various other combinations. The time has come wheii there should be an amalgamation, or affiliation, of the several institutions. under one great Federation. The town and country interests, which are, in a measure, identical, should 'be controlled by one authority. An organization vvkich embraced all! classes of employ 3rs would be a great power in the lair]. it wouM, in fact, be invulnerable and irresitible.
