HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT.
Tfoe Commerce .and Tourists' Division of the Department of Agriculture, Commerce, and Tourists has ?e>ceived the following cablegram from the High' Commissioner, dated London, 6th May, 1911. (Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are .'ive]a,ge market prices .on, spot):— Mwtton.— Ths market is deprsjsed as the result of heavy arrivals. Canterbury Nortih Island 2|d per lb. Lamb.— There is a better demand, but 'Stock is heavy. Canterbury 4|d, other than Canterbury 4d per lb.
Beef.— The 'market is steady. Supplies of American, oMEted beef are small. New Zealand hinds 3|d, fores 2fd per lb. Pork.— The ruling price for New Zealand pork is 53d per lb. Buttter.— -The market is slightly weaker, with less demand. Buyers are holding back, expecting prices to go lower. Choicest' New Zealand 108s, Auistfnaliain 100s, Danish 112s, Siberian 100s per owt. Cheese.— The market is firm, with, am improved demand'. New Zealand 62s per cw£.
