HARRIS COMMITTED TO BURNHAM.

The lad James Harris was charged at the Juvenile Court in Masterton yesterday, before Mr L. G. Beid, S.M. that he did commit the theft of a bicycle valued at £5, property of Clive Bleckman; that he did break and enter the shop of Patrick Hamill. draper, and commit theft of goods of a total value of £3B; that he did break and enter the shop of William Wilkes and steal chocolates and various kinds of confectionery to the rvalue Of £1 ss; that he did break and enter the shop of H. Beale and Co., and steal about 20s in money, and goods to the value of £2 10s.' Sergea.nt Miller stated that the lad did not go to. his home on Saturday night, and on Sunday morning it was discovered that Mr Wilkes' shop had been broken into. On Monday Mr Hamill found that his shop had" been entered, and some confectionery had been left on the premises. Some straps had been taken from the back yard, and were used for lowering the lad into^ Messrs H. Beale and Co.'s shop. His Worship told the boy that he had the power to sentence him to imprisonment on each charge. He did not wish to do that, but he would be sent, to the Burnham Industrial School, where he would Im> given an opportunity of reforming. * An order was made for tho return of the stoien goods to their respec-tive-owners.
