JOHNSONVILLE STOCK SALE

Messrs Abraham and "Williams, Ltd., report of their sale at Johnsonville on Wednesday, 3rd May:— Prime heavy bullocks, on account of Mr G. S. Moore, of Kai Iwd, made from £ll 15s to £l3 2s 6d; other vendors, £9 15s to £lO ss; prim© heavy cows, £7 17s 6d to £8 2s 6d; good wethers, 18s 6d; medium wethers, 16s 4d to 17s sd; best ewes, 14s 3d to 15s; others, 13s to 13s 6d; prime shorn lambs, 12s 2d.
, MASTERTON STOCK SALE. Messrs Abraham and Williams report as follows regarding their sale at Solway yesterday:—Our entry of sheep was confined to wethers and lambs, all yarded changing hands at prices in advance of those of a week ago, good wethers made from lis 7d to 12s 3d; low conditioned and small, 10s Id to 10s 4d; woolly lambs reached as high as 9s 7d for one particularly good lot in the wool. In cattle our entry was comparatively small, all but one pen, however, changing hands at full late ruling prices. Yearling steers realised £3 12s to £3 17s for good quality in good condition; good weaners, mixed sexes, up to £2 4s 6d. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report :—We offered ,i yarding of both cattle and sheep well up to advertised numbers, * which met with good competition right throughout the sale, and we can report practically a total clearance. We quote as follows : Shorn lambs (good quality), 8s 2d to 8s 4d; others sold at 5s 9d to 7s 6d; vsmaller sorts brought 2s 4d, ,2s 6d to 3s 9d; 2-tooth wethers, backward condition, 8s lQd to 9s 6d; s.m, ewes in lamb, 9s 3d to 9s 9d; fair conditioned ewes, 6s 9d to 7s 8d; boilers, from 3s 3d to os 2d, according to conditio.! Cattle: 3-year steers, to £5 10s, i/.n\s and calves, £3 6s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd., report:—We offered a 1 good average yarding in sheep, the quality of which was mostly good throughout, and we are able to report a clearance. The tene of the market is muc'h firmer. In cattle, several pens of bullocks offered failed to sell by,auction, but were placed afterwards at firm rates. All young cattle changed hands. Fat ewes, best, 125.6 d, others,,los 6d to lis; forward ewes, 8s to 9s 6d; best lambs, 9s, others, Bs, 7s, fo 5s 9d; fat wethers, 14s to 14s 9d : stores, 10s 6d to lis; store bullocks, £5 10s to £6; motherreared calves, 425; calves, 20s.
