WELLINGTON EXHIBITION.
Wellington has a peculiar habit of doing things slovenly. It intends holding an industrial exhibition this month; but, instead of inviting the co-operation of the country districts, which could furnish quite an interesting and attractive exhibition of primary products, it appears to pe confining itself to wax vestas, tallow candles, blankets,. portablfc boilers, and a,few other manufactures of the city. So far as the try "districts are concerned, they artv hardly aware that an exhibition/is to be held, and absolutely no.rural interest is being manifested in the concern. When Wellington realises that it is upon the great, productive resources of the Wairarapa and other outlying districts that its future depends, it will endeavour to cultivate a spirit a little beyond candles and drain-pipes.
