DIRECTORS' REPORT.
ENORMOUS POTENTIALITIES,
(Received Last Night, 11.5 o'clock.)
LONDON, May 2,
In the annual report of the _ Waihi Goldmining Company, the Directors emphasise the fact that there are no ore bodies below the ninth level tested. Nevertheless, though the mine has lost for the present the quality and stability which it was believed to possess, its potentialities are enormous.
Three hundred and eighty-seven New Zealand shareholders, representing 33,600 shares, oppose the transfer of the Board to New Zealand. The Directors do not believe that the British shareholders, who own 70 per cent of the shares, desire the control to be given to New Zealanders.
