The omission of a representation of the battle of Chateauguay from the Empire Festival has resulted out of a fear of wounding American susceptibilities. The matter Avas mentioned in the House of Commons, members complaining that th© Americans did not usually consider others in their celebrations. Sir Wilfrid Laurier explained that he was powerless in the matter.
