ST. MATTHEW'S CLUB,
At a meeting of the St. Matthew's Hockey Club held last night, N. Boyd was elected captain of tho senior team, and Mr M. Archer vice-captain, the captain, vice-captain, and R. Hatch a selection committee. The junior team elected A; Cowper captain, and W. Harding vice-captain, the captain, vice-captain, and L. Johnson a selection committee. The following teams will represent the Club on Thusday next: — Seniors, against Carterton, at Carterton: fl. Hatch, H. Williams, L. Boyd, N. Boyd, J. G. Douglas, R. Morris, A. Wheeler, M. Archer, W. Hendry, C. Walker and C. Cole. The drag will leave Rankin's corner at 1.30 sharp. Juniors, against Carterton, at Lansdowne: H. Billington, E. Miller, A. Cowper, F Jones, S. Harding, Carruthers. Peters, Terry, Johnson, F. Mndsen, and W. Harding. Emergencies :, Wimsett and Hadley. -,■
MASTERTON CLUB
A well-attended meeting was held in Murray's Hall last night, for the purpose of forming a Hockey Club, to take part in the championship matches Under the auspices of the Wairarapa Hockey Association. It was decided to form a Club, to be known as the Masterlon Hockey Club. The subscription was fixed at s=, and it was decided tfhat'the colours of the club fee "all black." The following officers were elected: —Patron, Mr Jas. Macara; President, Mr G. R. Sykes, Vice-Presidents. Dr. Cowie, and Messrs Donald Donald, H T. Hume, A. Henderson, and E. G. Eton; Captain, Mr J. B. Rue, ViveCaptain, Mr H. H. Donald; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr E. R. Wilson; Mai agemei.t Committee. Messrs J. V. Gordon, 11. H. Reynolds, W. Hornblow, and J. Gray; delegates to Waiyarapa Hockey Association, Messrs Peirin and Gray. The first prac'.ii-i» of thn ney Ciul will bo hell at Lansdowne at 2.f10 ou Thursday afternoon, when all member and intending members arc requested to be in attendance. Judging bv the number of players who attended the meeting and the enthusiasm shown, the Drospects of the new chib are particularly, bright.
The following team will represent the Excelsior juniors against Martinborough at Greytown next Thursday. The drag will leave Rankin's corner at 1.15 o'clock sharp:— Lawrence, Flaws, Hoar, Fraser, Tait, Tempest, Long, Fly, Ward, Weaver, Tory Ratima. Emergency, G. Challis (forward), Rangi and Norman (back).
