KAIPARORO.
There has been scarcely a glimpse of ■ sunshine to cheer us during the past week, but the district is looking like a green garden, so farmers are plodding -through the wet and mud with smiling faces. Rivers and streams, which a fortnight ago were lower than they had been for the last three years, are now carrying their usual quantity of water, and winter feed is pretty well assured, though it is to he hoped that frosts will hold off a little longer. The many friends of Mrs Herbert Renall, who has had a protracted illness, will be pleased to hear that there is now a marked improvement in her condition. Mr K. iVJcKeiizi:, who is about to take charge of ■ the Kaiwaka School, near Featliersion, has been paying, a short visit to friends here. Pending the appointment of a permanent assistant teacher to the local school, Miss Lily Feist, of Carterton, was appointed relieving teacher, and she took up her duties on the first of the month.
