SUDDEN DEATH.
OF A VISITOR TO MASTERTON. A painfully sudden death occurred in Masterton about eight o'clock on Saturday night. Mrs Rudman, wife of Mr Henry Rudman, of the Deeds Office, Napier, ,had been spending a holiday with her nephew, Mr H. T. Wood, chemist, of Masterton. On Saturday evening, in company with Mrs Wood, she went to Messrs Thompson and Payne's picture entertainment in the Foresters' HalL She was:then apparently in the best of health and spirits. She had only been seated, a few moments, however, when she was -seized with a fainting fit, and collapsed. > She was removed from the hall into an adjoining building, and Dr Cook was summoned. Before the doctor had arrived, however, death had ensued. The cause of death was heart failure. The deceased lady, who was seventy-two years of age, was a very old resident of Napier, and was highly respected by a large circle of friends. She leaves a widower and a grown-up son and daughter. Mr Rudman arrived in Masterton by motor yesterday. The body of the deceased is to be taken to Napier for interment today.
