CHALLENGE CUP FOR COMPETITION. '(Special Reporter) CARTERTON, l.&st Nijcht. A meeting of the general committee of the Siojth Wairarapa Poultry. Pigeon and Cage Bird Association was held at Carterton yesterday afternoon, Mr R. J. Chapman presiding. Correspondence was read f rom the Minister of Internal Affairs granting permission to hold an -art union in conjunction with the sho-v in July. The North Island Poultry Association" wrdtd in reference to Jateo and smell sundry matters. , Donatio-i to th-) funds were ieoeived from Messrs J. Martin borough),- and Mr W. C. Buchanan, ' Herrty votes of thanks were accorded the donors. After considerable discussion it was decided to procure a challenge silver cup for competition, to be won twice in succession or-three times at intervals. It will be awarded to the best bird in the show, pigeons, bantems, and cage birds excepted. The arranging of the matter was left in the hands of the secretary. The programme of last year was revised, and will be issued shortly. Mr H. J-; E. Meyrick headed the list for the silver cup with a guinea, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Other members of the Association are also contributing to the object. Mr D. Reid and the Secretary were appointed a canvassing committee. Several small matters were left in the hands of the secretary to deal with. . ,
