EKETAHTOA STOCK SALE

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual fortnightly sale in Eketahuna on Friday. April 27th. We had a fair entry of both sheep and cattle, our entry in Sheep consisting of old ewes and lambs. Sheep sold well, especially good quality lambs, but cattle met with a dragging sale. We quote : F.m. empty ewes, 3s lOd to 5s 3d; ewes in lamb, 9s and 10s; cull lambs, 4s and 5s 9d; better sorts, 7s 8d to 8s ; fat lambs, 10s 3d. Cattle: Heifers in calf, £3 10s to £4 ss; bulls, £3 8s and £3 15s; cows in calf. £3, £3 5s and £3 15s; weaner steers, 275; 2-year steers, £3 13s od.
