THE PAHIATUA SEAT.
MR J. C. COOPER'S POSJTJOtL Mr J. C. Cooper iniormed a representative of the Age yesterday that, in response to a, request that. he should allow his name to be submitted at th© meeting of the Reform .Party in Pahiatua. to-day, he had stated that his connection with the. Wellington Farmers' Meat Company would make it impossible for him to spend a month or six weeks electioneering at the opening of the busy season in November. He had also to: take into consideration the fact that he had the wojrV'.bf organising ihe mew Bacon Factory before him. He .anticipated that this wobld be in full swing. about that time. Although this was only a small thing, comparatively speaking, h© anticipated that its inauguration ..would en- ; tail almost as Hauch suj»ervision as had the freezing works at their inception. He very much appreciated the efforts and good wishes of his friends in the Pahiatua district, and he assured them that he would not be found contesting any dther seat in the Dominion.,' '
