CITIZENS' LEAGUE.
The need for the formation of a Citizens' League in Masterton has been emphasised in these columns on more than one occasion. There is plenty of useful work that such a League might undertake. Closer settlement, local industries, railway extension, lo;?al elections —all these things would come within the scope of such an institution. With the co-operation of the Chamber of Commerce and the Borough Council, the League, if composed of representative citizens, would do much to promote the progress and development of the -district and to strengthen the position of the town.
