THE HARBOUR BOARD.
The result of the electibn of two representatives of the Wairarapa on ,the Wellington Harbour Board was not unexpected. Mr Danielle as the sitting member, topped the poll, and Mr A. |McFarlane, of Paliiatua, thanks to the loyalty of the Bush, secured second place. Messrs Lows and Ewington each polled remarkabI ly well, and had no reason to be dissatisfied at the result. A feature of the poll was the apathy shown in townships where there was no municipal election, and in the country districts. At some of the booths not a solitary vote was recorded. The ! cost of the election will be a very j big item, and the Government will I have a question to answer when the I absurd Act is reviewed, as it must j be reviewed, in the next session of I Parliament.
