TWADDLE.
[To The Editor.] Sir, — 1 was much pleased with your article in Saturday's issue, under the above expressive heading, and am fully confident that a few more such articles will go a long way j in counteracting the pernicious inj fiuence exercised by the detractors of our fair town. It is bad enough, ( sir, when people at a distance de- / cry us (vide your article), but why j people credited with being possessed - j with an average amcrct. of intelligence should seek at O't.-? possible , opportunity to discredit the town | they live in puzzles many of your reaI ders (is it a case of the unclean bird, sir?). I quite agree with you that I "this town> x is getting along very nicely, a;id it will live through all j the humbug and nonsense which is ! being uttered by designing croakerß i and misguided pressmen."— 1 am, : etc., I JABEZ FRIDGES, j Secretary M.-W.N.L. Council.
