MASTERTON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
MEETING OF COUNCIL. The monthly meeting of the Council of the Masterton Chamber of Commerce was held yesterday afternoon, there being present : Messrs A. Henderson (in tlio chair), H. Donald, W. E. Chamberlain, J. B. Keith, C. E. Daniell, E. H. Waddington, and M. Caselberg. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs Carey, Chennells, D. Donald, V. Donald, R. Brown, and J. B. Moodia. The Treasurer reported a credffc balance at date of £7 5s Id. The Set '.rotary reported having forwarded a letter to the Minister of Railways, as prepared by a sub-com-mittee, in regard to the altered railway service. A copy of a telegram sent to the Minister bv the P pad dent urging the importance of an afternoon -mixed train to the north, was read, Mr Daniell stated that the subcommittee appointed to deal with the question of the Mungapakefea road rate and the differential railway rates, had not met. —It was decided ihat Mr Donald be appointed convenor of the sub-committee.
