A FARMERS' BILL
MOMENTOUS ISSUE
Received This Morning, V 2.55 o'clock. WASHINGTON, April 20. The Ways and Mearik Committee of the Lower House reports that the Farmers' Free-List Bill, recommending far-reaching reductions in the tariffs on the commodities of farmers, will require the agreement of Canada. The Bill is hailed as beneficial to the agricultural interests. The House, after further debating the Reciprocity Bill, adjourned. The House of Representatives agreed that the declaring for reciprocity was the most momentous issue before the country, since the SpanishAmerican War.
