METEOROLOGICAL.
The Rev. A. Hodge,- Meteorological Observer in Masterton, supplies the following:— Heading at 9 a.m. on the 20th for the previous. 24 hours: Maximum temperature, 64.4; mini,y.mum, 42.2; mean, 53.3. Earth temj( perature (surface) 35 deg. minimum; earth temperature (lie below surface) 59 dag. The earth temperature is perceptibly falling, there being a drop <of 6 tteg; since the 15th, the readings being as follows: On the 15th of April, 65 deg.; 16th, 62 deg,; 17th, 62deg.;: 18th, 60.7 deg.; 19th, 59.8 deg.; 20th, 59 deg.
