WHAT'S WRONG WITH MASTERTON?
The figures published in the Age this morning in respect to the population of Masterton will not be . pleasant reading to the pessimists and those who are continually!* crying "Wolf!" Although the increase in the Borough itself during the last five' years' has been .comparatively small, the increase in the suburbs has been very considerable. It is safe to assert that within a radius of two miles from the Post Office we have a population of men, women and children approximating 7000." This must be regarded as eminently satisfactory. It proves conclusively that the town, as well as the surrounding district, is making steady progress, and that the forebodings of the croaking prophets have been dismally falsified.
