MASTERTON'S MAYOR.

The return of Mr J. M. Coradine to the position of Chief Magistrate of Masterton without opposition is a graceful and .deserved tribute to a gentleman who, during the past year, has devoted both time and energy to the affairs of the Borough. Mr Coradine is a shrewd and . practical man of business, who does not spare himself when there is work to perform, and who has the rare faculty of achieving his •purpose without undue friction. It is satisfactory to find that the whole of the retiring Councillors have shown a willingness to place their services at the disposal of the ratepayers for a further period, and to assist the Mayor in the performance of his arduous duties.
