MAWSON'S EXPEDITION.
Received April 19, 9.30 a.uy) J LONDON, April 18. Dr. Charcot, the famous Antarctic explorer, has offered Mawson his vessel for £BOOO. Professor Mawson suggests that the Government or some philanthropist might seize the opportunity of presenting the ship t~„.Australia, inasmuch as it is a perfectly designed ship for Polar and scientific exploration. " The Prince of Monaco has presented Professor Mawson with a deep-sea dredging apparatus. - Baron Denman, the new GovernorGeneral of Australia, has promised a subscription towards the purchase of . the vessel.
