WAINGAWA FREEZING WORKS.

VERY SATISFACTORY REPORT.

By the last' Wellington mail the Wellington Farmers' Meat Co./ Ltd., 'Slave re>ceived advices from their London agents to the effect that their I sfst shipment of -frozen mutton' and lamb per- s.s. Rotorua arrived' in good condition, and leading salesmen have commented favourably on the grading, the dressing, wrapping, and general get-up of the product. Special comment was made on the quality i °f the prime mutton, which was considered to be up to Canterbury standard, if not better. The lamibs, however, appeared as if they had begun" to go off. It was stated' that the second grade contained carcases which from other oompanies' works might have been in- v eluded in the first grade. This is looked upon as a good fault on the part of the grader, as complaints have frequently been made of late as to slackness in grading prime quality. A special display was made by Messrs H. S. Fitter and Sons in their stalls-in all three markets, and buyers from Manchester, Birmingham, and Midland centres had a good opportunity of inspecting the quality, with, the result that subsequent shipments, although selling at low prices, realised equal to Canterbury for prime qualities.
