CARELESS CYCLISTS.

[To The Editor.]

Sir, — My attention Has been drawn in a very direct majmer to a bicycle accident that happened this week in High Street, whereby a young schoolgirl had 1 the misfortune to be knocked down and severely bruised and' shaken, through a cyclist wilfully breaking the Borougih bylaws by riding his machine along the footpath: The inclination of cyclists to skirti along the footpath is not only to the danger of the young school children, but also to all pedestrians. This habit of cycling along t J he footpath •on South Road and High Street is getting rather common to be relished by those whose business it is that takes them that way for a .walk. It is to be hoped that Sergeant Miller will take the necessary steps to stop this practise. —1 am, etc., S. R. EDWARDS.
