INFECTIOUS DISEASES.
BOROUGH INSPECTOR'S REPORT Mr J. Cairns, Borough'' Inspector, reported at Jast night's meeting vf the Masterton Borough Council that for the year ending March 31st, 1911, there were seven cases of scarlet fever, one of enteric, and four of tuberculosis, reported from within the Borough, making in all a total of twelve. There were no cases of diphtheria, septicaemia, or hydatids. During the year 1907-8 there were 111 cases of scarlet fever, 6 of enteric, 9 of tuberculosis, 9 of. diphtheria, none of septicaemia, and none of hydatids, total 13-3. The figures for the years 1908-9, 1909-10, and 1910-11, arc as follows: 30-, 7, 3, 6, 2, 1, total 49; 22, 1, 4, 1, 1, 1, total 30; 7, 1, 4, 0, 0, 0, total 12. Several Councillors expressed satisfaction at the healthy condition of the town, as shown by above figures.
