WAIPOUA SALE-YARDS.
AND THE NORTHERN APPROACH.
In view of the fact that a meeting of settlers interested in stock sales has been convened for to-day, with tho object of re-opening the Waipoua sale-yards, Councillor Foreman expressed the opinion at the meeting of the Finance Committee of the Masterton County Counicl yesterday that if this proposal was carried into effect the Council would have to take steps to regulate the stock traffic in some way. This, he said, would be necessary to obviate as far as possible the danger and inconvenience to the travelling public, which has heretofore existed in connection with stock sales, and also with a view of preventing injury to tlie expensive keiibing and footways which it was proposed to construct in connection with the improvements now being carried out at the northern approach. As Cr Foreman was not prepared to move a resolution on the subject, the matter was not discussed .
