THE MINISTERIAL VISIT.
HON. McKENZIE JsGES HIS PLANS. Mr A. W. Hogg, M.P., yesterday wired the Minister for Public Works, suggesting that he should remain in this part of the district sufficiently kg to enable him to inspect the lower end of the proposed Masterton to Pongaroa railway route. Mr Hogg received a, wire last evening, stating that the Minister would be leaving Pongaroa at six o'clock this" morning, and had altered his plans so that he would drive to Masterton via Waterfalls, Alfreclton, angaehu Valley, and the Mount Baker Block. He will thus cover a large portion of the proposed route from Masterton. The Minister will probably reach Masterton between five and six o'clock this evening. He will be waited upon by a deputation of the Chamber of Commerce,, and will leave tomorrow morning for Wellington, proceeding to Blenheim in the even-
