PAHIATUA, Last Night. A deputation waited upon the Hon. B. McKenzie, Minister of Public Works, and urged the early development of the Makuri power scheme. The Minister expressed, himself favourably impressed; with the scheme, which, he said, should supply Pahiatua Eketahuna, Masterton, Woodville, Dannevirke, and Palmerston North. Ho promised to send an engineer to further report upon the scheme, and advised the deputation to find out what market was available'for the electricity.
