AMUSEMENTS.
THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. A packed house greeted the new | programme at.the Foresters' Hall j last evening. The items covered a wide range of subjects, scenic, industrial and dramatic films being interWoven with humorous studies. "The Song of the Wild Wood Lute" was a striking Indian story, remarkable for \ the faithfulness with which it portrays the life of the Red Indian. Miss Dolly Nichol on takes the leading role in this splendid drama. "The Road Agents" was another good story of the Wild West, depicting the- terrors of the road when highwaymen held sway. Two splendid A.B. comedies, "Jack as Hero ; ~- and "A Summer Tragedy," caused ■roars of laughter. "The Rijit to Labour" was an absorbing study full of "human interest. One of the best scenics ever shown in Masterton was fhat showing views on the east of the Riviera. A number of other dramatic, industrial, comic, and scenic films were shown. The programme \ ; will be repeated to-night.
