PHENOMENAL RAINFALL.
THE QUEENSLAND FLOOD
CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE REPORTED.
Received This Morning, 12.45 o'clock.
BRISBANE, April 5. The rainfall at Cairns for four days was 48 inches. At Karimdah 52 inches fell in 48 hours.
Many wash-aways and land slips occurred at Cairns.
Railway bridges, and cane crops, were badly damaged. Since the beginning of the year, the rainfall at Cairns has been 157J inches.
