HEALTH OFFICERS.
Under an Act passed last session, the Wairarapa Hospital.and Charitable MB. Board becomes the district Board of Health, and assumes the functions which were previously performed by local bodies. The Board yesterday decided to appoint two officers to act as health officers and sanitary inspectors for a district comprising 29,000 odd people, with fifteen local bodies. It remains to be seen whether these two officials can do justice to a scattered population like that of the "Wairarapa.
