"RINGING THE CHANCES."
GISBORNE, Last Night. Two men named Robert Hunter and Edward Harrison, each with several aliases, were convicted oji Saturday morning with-.attempting to defraud the barmaids in the Masonic and Albion Hotels by means' of ; a trick known ■ as "ringing the changes." Hunter was sentenced to one month, and Harrison to six weeks in the Napier Gaol. The former was also sentenced to fourteen days for using obscene language.
