TO-DAY'S WEATHER.
NEW ZEALAND FORECAST. j WEIiLINGTON, Last Night. The Meteorological Office thisevening issued the following summary and forecast: — Rain fell in many parts of the country during Tuesday night and on the West Coast and southernmost districts of the South Island to-day, but though the conditions are not yet settled the storm area is now apparently passing south. Northerly and westerly winds have prevailed, the latter being strong to squally in south, with a slowly rising barometer. "'Present indications are for moderate to strong northerly winds northward of New Plymouth and Napier and westerly and southerly winds elsewhere. The barometer will probably fall slowly in, the north, and rise steadily in the south. Unsettled and showery conditions are probable at times, especially in the far, north and (Coast -and •.spxithernmost districts , ctf kthe South Island. . •" -
