BOXING.
MASTERTON CLUB
The Masterton Boxing Club opened their classes last and from'the excellent attendance of. aid and new, members, this capital sport promises to l>e as popular this year with the young men of the district, as it was last season. Instructor Maloney had a busy two hours, and was-very-pleased with the new material placed under his care. Three of the winners of last season's championships, Messrs Cyril Welch, V. Billihgton, and G. Barr, donned the, gloves, and it would appear to be a matter of training to make first-class amateurs of these men. The hall is now fully equipped Avith all necessary apparatus for physical culture, Indian clvbs and dumbell work, wrestling, etc., and it is evident that the management of the Masterton Club are'determinoil to leave no stone unturned in giving local men every opportunity to excel in the noble art.
