CAPTAIN SCG'IT'S- MESSAGE.
CONGRATULATIONS FROM SHACKLETON.
(Received This Morning, 2.50 o'clock.) LONDON, March 28.
Captain' Scott'simessage;from Stewart Island on January 25th created a great sensation in London, firstly owing to the presence of Captain Amundsen in' the Bay of Whales, and secondly because Captain Scott is establishing his second party at Cape Adare. Sir E. Shackleton, in a special article to the Daily Mail, congratulates Captain Scott on successfully landing the major portion, of his equipment and stores at a base best suited for a dash to ihe pole. This Cape- Evans is fourteeen miles north of The Dicovery's winter quarters, an'/, eight miles south of Cape 'Royds, which was Shackleton's base.
