Mr W. C. Buchanan, M.P., who has fceen on a visit to Timaru, returned to the Wairarapa from "Wellington last evening.

Mr James Archer, of Napier, the newly appointed Town Clerk and Borough Engineer of Masterton, has ■'■: written to the Borough Council accep- ' ting the appointment. Mr Archer will take up his duties on April 17th.

Mr J. H. Kibblewhite, for many Years in the Masterton and Wellington Post Offices, but now farming m the Manawatu .district, is at present a visitor to this town.

Mr T. Moss, of Eketahuna, leaves for Wellington to-day, en route for the Old Country. Mr Moss proceeds to London via Sydney. He will be ac--companied by Mrs Moss. Mr Charles Cuming, formerly editor of the Farmers' Union Advocate, and more recently agricultural, editor ot tl-»f New Zealand Times, has been appointed to succeed the late Mr G. Bisset as editor of publications to the Agricultural Department.

Mr William Taylor, of Taikorea, who died on Friday from an attack of ijneumonia, had been a settler in the Manawatu for over 30 years. Mr TayTo.r was at one time a member of jthe? Manawatu County Council. ' His wife, :v daughter of Mr W. R. Brown, of Wellingtonj,and two sons and- three daughters survive him.
