PAHIATUA STOCK. SALE

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., held the above sale in the Farmers" Association's yards 011 Tuesday last, when they offered a large yarding of both sheep and cattle. The •quality of the sheep on the average was not of a high standard, consequently, there was a dragging sale, very little', changing hands. All the: "-cattle were sold well;up to late rates. and 6-tooth ewes, 10s 3d to 12s; mixed ages ewes, 7s 6d to "8s ; store ewes, 4s Id to 5s 9d ; cull ewes, 2s 6d to 3s 5d ; 3$ year steers, £5 2s; good; forward empty cows, £4 '3s to £4 15s ; store cows, £1 lis to £3 10s ,* dairy cows, £5 to £6 6s; cows .and •calves, £3 ss; 18-month" steers, £3 ss; 'bulls to £5.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual weekly stock sale :.in Pahiatua on Tuesday, when they offered a good yarding of both sheep and cattle. Although bidding at auction was not keen we were able to make a fair clearance afterwards. We quote:—2-tooth ewes medium sorts 10s to 10s 3d; 3-yea.r ewes, 9s 3d to 10s; old ewes; 4s 7d, 5s '6d to 5s 9d; cull lambs, 2s 7d to 3s; 2£and 3-year steers, to £4 12s 6d; Siyear heifers in calf, £3 10s, £3 15s to £3 18s; wearier. steers, to 27s 6d; mother-reared weaners to 38s.

MASTERTON STOCK SALE.

The New Zealand loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows on their weekly sale at the Solway yards yesterdayWe submitted a heavy yarding of slieep of all classes, the bulk of the ewes being culled sorts. The market for these sorts was still very dead, although vendors were prepared to sell, and buyers were present from all parts. Sales were made freely. Any good quality lots in ewes, wethers, or lambs, found a ready market, and at the close of £Eo day two small pens only failed to change hands. In rams, all breeds offered,a few Downs and Leicesfcers selling. Romneys were not in demand. In cattle our entries were confined to bullocks, and very good coloured, well-grown bullocks sold freely, nearly 300 in all changing hands. Younger steers were not wanted. Some lines of weaner pigs came forward j and found purchasers at very low figures. Fat ewes, medium, 30s 9d to lis 8d; forward ewes, 9s to 10s 3d; fat lambs, good woollv. 12s lid; Forward wethers. 13s to 13s 4d; 2-tooth small, 10s to 10s 9d; medium 2-tnoth ewes. 10s 3d: 4 year ewes, 8s to 10s: fair class. 7s 3d to 9s Id; aged, '6s to 7s ; culls. 3s to 4s; store lambs; mudium,Jss to 7s; culls, 3s to ss; rams, 'XincoJfts, 2to 2sgns: Downs, 2£gns; Very forward grown bullocks, £7 13s; good store bullocks, £6 10s; weaner pigs, 5s to 7s 6d. ,
