TO-DAY'S RACES.
WET DAY PROMISED
The prospects for the opening day of the Masterton Racing Club's autumn meeting are not too bright. Rain, which had been threatened for the past day or two, commenced to fall at an early hour this morning, and, at the time of writing, had every indication of continuing. The downpour will greatly improve the course, and, should the clouds disperse before noon, a good day's sport should eventuate.
