WELLINGTON, Last Night. At a meeting of the local Committee of the Festival of Empire Sports, the Australasian Committee stated that the New South Wales Government had' agreed to give a £ for £ subsidy up to £2OO, which j enabled G. Smyth, champion middle J weight wrestler, to be sent.
The secretary stated that the amount collected in New Zealand was. £122 Is 6d, and with the : amount in sight totalled roughly £2lB 4s 6d/ • i ■ - !

It was decided to send him by the Ruahine, sail*ng on April 6th. , It was resolved to send a letter to Sir J. G. Ward, informing him of the personnel of the team, and also the events in which they are competing. It was also decided to ask the Acting Premier to arrange with the High Commissioner for the team to be met oh "arrival at London.
