AN APPRECIATION.

In every respect they proved themselves gentlemen, and by their bearing and conduct have gained the goodwill not only of myself and family; but of all those with whom they .came in contact. It was indeed a, pleasure to have them, and since their departure for home everything seems' "stale, flat and unprofitable.'' I can; assure the. Ma-sterton., people w.e did ,our best for-„them,-.- and feel that in some slight degree we succeeded, but .what-we (did for them was less than their merits and good qualities entitled them to. I sincerely trust that whilst they were with us they had an enjoyable time, I for at least they appeared to have, and that of the West Coast they will have pleasant recollections.
